How to Apply

Below is an outline of what is required with each application. If you do choose to apply, please be sure to select the application for the correct school year (2022-23 for next fall).

 
  • Visit The Saklan School
Learning more about the school prior to submitting the application is highly recommended.  Virtual Open Houses are scheduled during the admissions season. We will be scheduling school visits for applicants only in order to reduce the number of people on campus.
 
  • Applying to PS (3's)
  • Submit an application online. This includes a $100 non-refundable application fee and a picture of the applicant.
  • Once the application is submitted, the admissions office will contact you to schedule a meeting with the applicant (usually in February or early March).
 
  • Applying to Pre-K (4's) 
  • Submit an application online. This includes a $100 non-refundable application fee and a picture of the applicant.
  • The online application for Pre-K requires that you give contact information for your child’s teacher to fill out a Teacher Recommendation Form.
  • Once the application is submitted, the admissions office will contact you to schedule a meeting with the applicant (usually in February or early March).
 
  •  Applying to Kindergarten
  • Submit an application online. This includes a $100 non-refundable application fee and a picture of the applicant.
  • The online application for Kindergarten requires that you give contact information for your child’s teacher to fill out a Teacher Recommendation Form.
  • Once the application is submitted, the admissions office will send out instructions for how to complete the Kindergarten assessment.
 
  • Applying to 1st Grade
  • Submit an application online. This includes a $100 non-refundable application fee and a picture of the applicant.
  • The online application for 1st grade requires that you give contact information for your child’s teacher to fill out a Teacher Recommendation Form.
  • Through the online application, download the Records Release Form, sign and deliver to your child’s current school.
  • Once the application is submitted, the admissions office will contact you to schedule a meeting/assessment with the applicant (usually in February or early March).

 

  • Applying to 2nd-5th Grade
  • Submit an application online. This includes a $100 non-refundable application fee and a picture of the applicant.
  • The online application for these grades requires that you give contact information for two teachers to fill out a Teacher Recommendation Form.
  • Through the online application, download the Records Release Form, sign and deliver to your child’s current school.
  • Once the application is submitted, the admissions office will contact you to schedule a meeting/assessment with the applicant (usually in February or early March).

 

  • Applying to Middle School (6th-8th Grade)
  • Submit an application online. This includes a $100 non-refundable application fee and a picture of the applicant.
  • The online application for Middle School requires that you give contact information for two teachers to fill out a Teacher Recommendation Form.
  • Through the online application, download the Records Release Form, sign and deliver to your child’s current school.
  • Part of the online application includes questions to be answered by the applicant.
  • Once the application is submitted, the admissions office will contact you to schedule a meeting/assessment with the applicant (usually in February or early March).
