Kim Parks was born and raised in Pinole, California, where her passion for leadership began at an early age. Starting in fifth grade, she was involved in student government and leadership activities, eventually serving as senior class president. Kim earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Sociology and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University.
Kim has been part of the Saklan community since 2001 and has served in a wide range of roles, including Summer Camp Director, Extended Day Director, Learning Specialist, Fifth Grade Teacher, Language Arts Teacher, Humanities Teacher, Leadership Teacher, Advisor, and Middle School Dean. Her breadth of experience reflects her adaptability and commitment to supporting students and colleagues wherever she is needed. Kim describes herself as a cooperative team player who strives to be fair, loving, and firm. She continues to explore brain research and student learning, learning differences, and the important role of social-emotional learning in education.
