Annette joined the Saklan teaching staff in 2023 after more than a decade as a classroom teacher and experience serving as a math specialist in the Hillsborough School District. Originally from Honolulu, Annette has called Lafayette home for the past 20 years, where she and her husband, Doug, have raised their three children.
Annette’s teaching practices emphasize inquiry-based experiences, Project Based Learning, and hands-on lessons in a child-centered environment. She strives to create an engaging classroom community where individual success is celebrated, mistakes are embraced as opportunities for learning, and students learn through active, cooperative groups.
