Annette is thrilled to join the Saklan teaching staff teaching 4th grade. She has been a classroom teacher for over 10 years and has served as a math specialist in the Hillsborough School District. She grew up in Honolulu, and for the past 20 years, has raised her three children, with her husband Doug, in Lafayette.  Her best practices support inquiry-based experiences, project based learning and hands-on lessons in a child centered learning environment. She creates an engaging community classroom where individual success is honored and mistakes are part of learning. She uses a variety of active cooperative learning groups during instruction. Annette has been an active community leader in Lamorinda and currently serves as President of Lamorinda Boys Team Charity, a director of Lowell Berry Foundation. She loves spending time cheering on her kids and walking her three dogs on the beautiful Lamorinda Trails.
