With the exception of designated free dress days, all students in1st through 8th grade are required to be in uniform each school day. All clothing should be clean and in good repair. Please remember to label clothes, especially outerwear.
Logo uniform apparel must be purchased from Lands’ End. To ensure a proper order, please provide The Saklan School preferred school number each time you place an order. When ordering online from Lands’ End, simply enter the school number and the list of approved items can be viewed. All other uniform items, such as shorts, skirts, skorts, and pants may be purchased anywhere as long as they conform to the code detailed below. Please note that we have made an additional option for students to buy active wear for use during Physical Education classes. This should not be used as a regular uniform.

SHOES
Shoes should be comfortable, neat and clean, and must have toes and backs (rather than open toed or flip flop sandals). For safety reasons, shoes should have a leather or rubber sole and not be on rollers. Every student should wear shoes suitable for use in PE on days they have PE, and everyday shoes should be suitable for playing on the playgrounds. Dress shoes for regular school days are discouraged, as they are not suitable for active outdoor play.
OUTERWEAR
Lands' End has outerwear for sale with the Saklan logo, but sweatshirts, sweaters, cardigans or fleeces may be purchased at any store so long as they are gray, white or dark blue, and have no logos, words, or images on them. Jackets or coats, which are worn outside the classroom on cold days, do not have to conform to uniform standards. Hats may be worn outside but never inside the classroom.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Spirit wear or uniform may be worn for Physical Education.
FREE DRESS
All students will have free dress days every Wednesday. On free dress day students may wear clothing other than their uniform, provided it is clean, in good repair, and doesn’t have any words or art work with inappropriate messaging. All tops must have shoulder straps and not expose the midriff. All bottoms must be worn at the waist and cover the upper thigh.
