Calendar 2006-07
Saklan has a very long history of adherence to the Lamorinda public school calendar, both because we have a number of families in our Pre-School program who have children in both Saklan and the public schools, and in order to coordinate the calendar of our Summer Camp, which is very popular with local public school families. Moraga has just published their 2006-07 calendar, and so we are able to tell you now that Saklan will open for school on Wednesday, August 23rd. This is a week and a half prior to the Labor Day weekend. Our winter holiday break will commence with a noon dismissal on Friday, December 15, and school will resume Tuesday January 2nd. Spring break will occur the week of April 2nd through 6th. The school year will conclude, and graduation will occur, on Wednesday June 6th, 2007. More details to follow.

K-8 Annual Concert Tuesday at 7:00
Tuesday night is our Annual K-8 Concert. The show will begin quite promptly at 7:00pm, and families should expect it to run 75-90 minutes. Performing students are to arrive early for rehearsal preparation: Grades 6-8 at 5:45; grades 3-5 at 6:00; grades K-2 at 6:15. After dropping off children, parents are welcome to go and return or to stay in the lobby, which is pleasant but does not have many seats; doors to the theater itself will probably open at about 6:45.

Extended Day News
The Extended Day staff would like to thank the parents who have so generously donated games and videos to our program. Each game has already gotten great use and has been enjoyed by our Saklan students. We will accept any games, legos, blocks, and videos anytime throughout the year. We appreciate your generosity. Thanks!
Please note that there are two new signs made specifically for parents and caregivers picking up a student in Extended Day. One sign is posted on the bulletin board next to the main office, and the other is posted above the time clock in the Extended Day foyer. These signs give the location of our Early Childhood and School age programs, enrichment classes, and study hall. We are hoping to help parents and caregivers find their student quickly and without too much anxiety. We hope this helps!
